The Challenge
Referral management remains integral to delivering quality healthcare. Traditionally healthcare providers (HCP) use pen and paper methodologies that cannot be tracked resulting in a breakdown of patient care when referring between General Practitioners (GPs) and Specialists, whether in hospitals or private clinics.
Patient records are unable to be persistently shared once the patient enters the healthcare system, with clinicians unable to share patient diagnostic information (images, DICOM files) and other critical information. The challenge was to create a ‘whole of healthcare visibility and communications’ system that utilise AI and machine learning. Clinical workflows were then replaced, removing manual touchpoints with automation, creating a holistic clinical experience from start to end.

How did Kiratech empower the Founder Entrepreneur and the Industry?
Dr. Vikram Palit, the founder of Consultmed, has been engaging with Kiratech since inception, as a tech partner, to replace the current clinical methods being used that are predominantly paper-based and time-consuming with a digital solution.
Consultmed currently engages our Scale and Principal Consulting services. Together we have improved the referrals processes and automation across Australia. We developed a secure cloud-based web interface which allows GPs to enter patient information then forward on the record to electronic management records used by specialists & hospitals with accountability and alerting. With our partners we are now interoperable in any healthcare network within Australia and beyond.
